This portrait is based on a photo published by USA Today in October 2023 showing a young girl at al-Shifa hospital in Gaza following the October 17 strike on al-Ahli hospital. Al-Shifa was destroyed last April. Hundreds of Palestinians were left behind in mass graves.

All proceeds from this painting will go to a family of eight seeking evacuation funds, including siblings Muhammad (27), Reham (29), Rahaf (18), Warzan (13), and Ghazal (11).
