The inspiration for this painting was captured by Mohammed Jadallah Salem, a Palestinian visual journalist, and published in March 2024 by ABC News.

Proceeds from this portrait will be donated to Yasmin Adli’s family of eight, who have lost their homes, livelihoods, over eighty relatives, and their cat and dog to the war, leaving them living on the streets and without access to basic necessities or medical care. Yasmin is now their sole means of support and is urgently fundraising to cover costs for evacuation, travel, and resettlement in Canada.
